Richard is proud to have two works selected for the inaugural Hastings Open exhibition at the Hastings Museum and Art Gallery (HMAG).

Handmade Etching on Steel 'Delicate Stems' by Richard Spare

Including Delicate Stems a recently rediscovered etching on steel from the early eighties, drawn shortly after working with Hockney.

Hastings Open is a major open-entry art show celebrating the creative talent of artists and makers from across the world. The exhibition brings together 91 pieces by 77 visual artists working in painting, sculpture, ceramics, drawing, print, photography, digital, audio, mixed-media and video selected from over 1,700 submissions by a panel of guest judges:

  • Kate Adams - artist and CEO Project Art Works, Hastings, in collaboration with Ellen Prebble – artist-maker, Project Art Works, Hastings
  • Kenton Lowe - blackShed gallery, Robertsbridge, East Sussex
  • Patrick Adam Jones - Project 78 Gallery, St Leonards-on-Sea
  • Phoebe Cripps – Assistant Curator at Hayward Gallery, London, and Associate Curator at Flatland, Hastings
